SHARON MACLISE
YOUR WILDROSE ALLIANCE CANDIDATE FOR
LEDUC-BEAUMONT-DEVON

I believe that Alberta is at a significant crossroads in its political history. It will move forward as an ongoing chattel of the federal Canadian government or it will finally move out from under the heavy-handed influence of federal politics and insist upon its right to function as a provincial entity as provided for in our Constitution. The proud history of our province demands that we find the leadership within our own citizenship to do this.

Constitutional independence requires that we are politically, economically and administratively mature enough to manage the mandate we are demanding. It is not enough to speak and act on principle without the willingness and the ability to accept the responsibility of those principled demands. Albertans must meet that challenge and those of us in a financial and personal position to do so need to step forward and offer our service to civic life. I am in that position.

I have been a political pundit for many years, indeed all of my adult life, questioning and complaining about the political leadership that I have been subject to. Although I have always been politically active in the sense that I participate fully in the process, personal and business demands have prevented me from taking up the challenge of candidacy in the past. I am now free to take up this interest and this challenge.

I have a powerful affection for this province - its values, its culture and its people. The opportunities that it offered me as a university graduate in the 70s were endless and I have benefited greatly from having taken advantage of them. I could sit back now, and simply enjoy all that I have worked for but that is not my interest or my style. It is my turn now to contribute my time and effort to creating a positive change to Alberta’s future in a practical and meaningful way.

I believe that I have a great deal to offer the people of Leduc-Beaumont-Devon and Alberta. I am well-educated, articulate, well-read and politically well-informed. My personal, professional and business background is varied and well-rounded (see Bio) as I have been active in business, education, sports and the arts. I have enjoyed financial and personal success and have built it and managed it, since high school graduation until now, completely on my own. I will dedicate myself to my constituents and this province with that same sacrifice and dedication.

I would be honoured to apply those same values of dedication and hard work that brought me this far to my role as Member of the Legislative Assembly for Leduc-Beaumont-Devon.

YOU CAN HELP BY:

1) Deliver brochures.
2) Make phone calls.
3) Find a spot for one of her large 4 X 8 signs ~ erect it, if you can, or we can find someone else to do so.
4) Place signs in the country around Devon and Leduc in particular.
5) Find a group of 25 or larger and a venue so that Sharon can meet with them and present her message and listen to their concerns.
6) Donate to her campaign fund. Lots of work can get hired out if there is money to do that.
7) If you are unable to help before the election, can you help take down signs after it is over.

ANYTHING YOU CAN DO TO HELP IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!
